Old Port Credit Heritage District Feasibility Study and Heritage Conservation District Plan
Client: City of Mississauga
Project Completion: July 2004

In 1988, the City of Mississauga identified Old Port Credit Village for potential heritage designation. In 2003, George Robb Architect was retained to conduct a feasibility study assessing the area’s heritage value and the viability of designation under the Ontario Heritage Act.
The study included historical, archaeological, landscape, and building inventories, as well as policy analysis and recommendations for a heritage planning framework. Following extensive consultation, a Heritage Conservation District Plan was prepared. In June 2004, City Council unanimously approved the designation of Old Port Credit Village as a Heritage Conservation District, adopting guiding principles for conservation, compatible additions, new construction, and landscape preservation.
