Port Dalhousie Lighthouse

Client:  City of St. Catharines

Project Completion:  2011

In 2009, the City of St. Catharines retained George Robb Architect to lead the restoration of the Inner Range Lighthouse in Port Dalhousie. Built in 1898, the lighthouse is notable for its rare cross‑hatch wall construction and today serves as the home of a local sailing school. Following a detailed condition assessment, the project involved replicating and replacing deteriorated cedar shingles, reconstructing missing wood trim documented in historic photographs, repairing the steel and glass lantern, and installing a new accessibility ramp.
