Barber Mill
Situated on the Credit River in Georgetown, the 12.9‑acre Barber Mill site contains remnants of mill buildings dating from the mid‑nineteenth to mid‑twentieth century, when paper production ceased. Portions of the complex were later occupied by small tenants until the 1980s, after which the buildings were vacated and fell into disrepair.
George Robb Architect was engaged to prepare a report for the Town of Georgetown, providing a peer review of a structural assessment, independent advice on site conditions, and recommendations regarding the retention or adaptive reuse of the buildings. The report also outlined options for the property to guide further discussions between Town Council and the current owner, with particular attention to the impact of structural deterioration on its cultural heritage value.
