Ashbridge Estate
Client: City of Toronto
Project Completion: November 2023

The Ashbridge Estate, once a 400‑acre parcel settled in 1793, is now a two‑acre heritage site on Queen Street East in Toronto with five remaining buildings. In 2020, the Ontario Heritage Trust commissioned a condition assessment of four structures, identifying repair priorities and estimating costs at $976,000. Subsequent work included extensive masonry, roof, and porch repairs at the Jesse Ashbridge House, a full rebuild of the Greenhouse Garage enclosure, structural stabilization of the concrete garage, complete reconstruction of the deteriorated Woodfield Garage, and limited foundation, chimney, roof, and mould remediation at the Woodfield House. This program preserved the estate’s key historic buildings and ensured their continued integrity.
