Bench Guard

 

It is all quite simple.  The City of Toronto disassembles obsolete road guard rails and keeps them in a yard...we know a man named Peter, who is happy to give them to us.  The utilitarian and impersonal objects become quite elegant once adapted for use as furniture.  The combination of the steel guard rails with an organic slab of reclaimed wood creates a dynamic juxtaposition.
