Cornice Table

This coffee table is made in collaboration with Forever Interiors Furniture Manufacturing Co., and uses a salvaged wood cornice from a GRA restoration project.

The restored building originally housed the Consumer's Gas Company, which was Toronto's oldest public utility, beginning in the mid 1800s.  Because of it's roots, this table incorporates gas pipes to create the frame.

The otherwise disposed of wood cornice tries to retain as much of its original "dignity" as possible, by keeping the tongue and groove joints and patina of the wood members.
